Nepal on Friday reported six more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,909. The country also recorded 554 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 264,159 with 5,021 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 257,229 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 585 in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 207 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 171 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 23 in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.

As of Friday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 122,964. While Kathmandu has reported 477 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 151 and 110 deaths respectively.

According to the ministry, 954 individuals from Bagmati Province, 244 from Lumbini Province, 218 from Province 1, 216 from Province 2, 189 from Gandaki Province, 63 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 25 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.

As of Friday, 1,974,561 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 5,269 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 124 new infections were reported in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, and 232 in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 62, 68, 10 and 46 cases respectively.

While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Solukhumbu, Mugu and Salyan districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.

While 182 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 37 others—23 in Bagmati Province, seven in Gandaki, five in Lumbini, and one each in Province 1 and Karnali—are on ventilator support.

Nepal on Thursday reported four Covid-19-related deaths and 412 new infections. Similarly, six deaths and 409 new infections were recorded in the country on Wednesday and eight deaths and 1,893 new cases on Tuesday.
