Nepal on Saturday reported six more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,954. The country also recorded 240 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 267,056 with 4,058 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 261,044 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 477 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 131 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 115 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 12 in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.
As of Saturday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 124,621. While Kathmandu has reported 487 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 155 and 113 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 972 individuals from Bagmati Province, 253 from Lumbini Province, 224 from Province 1, 218 from Province 2, 195 from Gandaki Province, 65 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Saturday, 2,008,944 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 3,819 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, six new infections were reported in Province 1, three in Province 2, and 180 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces reported 12 and 39 cases respectively.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Kalikot, Mugu and Rukum (West) districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 169 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 38 others—20 in Bagmati Province, nine in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, and one in Province 1 and two in Sudurpaschim—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported five Covid-19-related deaths and 270 new infections. Similarly, six deaths and 403 new cases were recorded in the country on Thursday and five deaths and 445 new cases on Wednesday.
