Nepal on Saturday reported seven more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,305. The country also recorded 1,674 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 218,639 with 24,009 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 2,323 infected people have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 899 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 685 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 165 in Lalitpur and 49 in Bhaktapur.
As of Saturday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 101,771. While Kathmandu has reported 316 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 90 and 84 respectively.
According to the ministry, 645 individuals from Bagmati Province, 179 from Lumbini Province, 174 from Province 2, 170 from Province 1, 85 from Gandaki Province, 37 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 15 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Saturday, 1,652,043 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 8,144 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 78 new infections were reported in Province 1, 32 in Province 2, and 1,083 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 184, 227, 10 and 60 cases respectively.
Twelve districts—Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavre, Kaski, Dang, Rupandehi and Kailali—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Mugu districts do not have any active case, according to the ministry.
While 336 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 47 others—22 in Bagmati Province, 14 in Gandaki Province, eight in Province 1, two in Lumbini Province, and one each in Province 2—are on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 22 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,945 new infections compared to 17 deaths and 2,103 new infections on Thursday and 12 deaths and 1,442 new cases on Wednesday.
